Hello! My name is Mónica, I am the creator, designer, and the face behind PiraposaPapel. I am from Bogotá, a cat lady, collector of children’s books, tea lover, graphic designer - professional paper cutter 🤪. I love paper in all its expressions; it has been my tool to express what connects my mind and my heart with my hands.

I entered the world of paper art through the creation of flowers; here I found my place in the creative artisan world, and I haven’t let go of it since. It has been a journey filled with excitement and hope.
Today, I not only create paper flowers, but I also create custom pieces and illustrations and water-resistant paper jewelry that is friendly to the environment. My goal will always be to fill every corner with color.
About PiraposaPapel
PiraposaPapel, created in December 2018, is dedicated to the design and crafting of handmade pieces and creative paper products and recycled materials, such as illustrations, flowers, and eco-friendly jewelry.
Why are we named Piraposapapel? We wanted a name that was different and unique. Since I am a huge lover of butterflies (mariposas), my husband creatively recalled how he used to call them in his childhood and brought the word “piraposa” to life, and that’s how our name was born: PiraposaPapel.
Experience

We have a presence in the physical store called La tienda de cosas located in Quinta Camacho in the city of Bogotá D.C. and participate in trade fairs such as VASSAR, Feria del Hogar, and the Amazon business fair, in addition to working with corporate clients like Newrest Services Colombia S.A.S. and creating products for Uber Bogotá.
At PiraposaPapel, we do not believe in rushing or mass production, but we do believe in mindful processes.
Each of our pieces is handcrafted from paper, giving a second chance to reused materials to transform them into art. For us, the magic is not in the quantity, but in the authenticity and love of small, unique details.
“My dreams are made of paper, and it is in them that my heart lies. May your hands create what your heart feels.”
